Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Cover Supervisor to join our team. As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising and supporting students in the absence of their regular teacher. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who have experience working with children and are interested in education, although full training is provided.
Duties:
- Supervise students in the classroom during the absence of their regular teacher
- Deliver pre-prepared lessons and ensure students stay on task
- Provide support and guidance to students with special educational needs, including those with autism
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Manage classroom behavior and maintain discipline according to school policies
- Assist with administrative tasks, such as taking attendance and reporting any issues to the appropriate staff members
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to ensure a cohesive educational experience for students
- Provide tutoring or additional support to students as needed
- Encourage creativity and engagement through activities such as creative writing exercises
Requirements:
- Experience working with children, preferably in an educational setting
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to effectively manage a classroom and maintain discipline
- Knowledge of special education practices and strategies is a plus
- Ability to adapt to different teaching styles and approaches
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to connect with students on an individual level
- Flexibility to work in different classrooms or grade levels as needed
