To help us recruit social workers who are committed to working in Middlesbrough we are currently offering a 10% supplement to social work salaries. This additional 10% will be reviewed at the end of March 2025.
This is an exciting opportunity for a Social Worker Student about to qualify, a newly qualified Social Worker looking to complete the ASYE or an experienced Social Worker looking for a new challenge within Adult Social Care.
We have a range of opportunities within our Learning Disability and Transitions team, Locality team, and our Access team. Across the teams there is the opportunity to gain experience working collaboratively with partner agencies including South Tees NHS Foundation Trust, Tees Esk and Wear Valley NHS Trust, and Accessing Change Together (ACT) Middlesbrough, amongst many others, whilst working to achieve the best outcomes for our communities.
You will work with experienced and settled teams, holding an interesting and varied caseload. You will have the opportunity to take a blended contract, working from home as well as working from Fountain Court, our newly renovated, open planned and modern office. The office environment has an excellent kitchen and dining area, and we encourage staff to take a break and eat together at lunch time. New staff joining Middlesbrough Council can expect a warm welcome from the team. You will have the opportunity to work collaboratively with other Adult Social Care teams and our homeless team who share our office space.
Middlesbrough Council offer superb training and development opportunities via our online training portal and through our workforce development lead. For ASYE Social Workers we provide a high level of support to staff with experienced Social Workers providing and tailored guidance and input with regular staff catch ups and development sessions.
As a service we are also committed to supporting our staff and providing a healthy work culture. Staff have access to monthly supervision (with increased frequency for NQSWs undertaking their ASYE) as well as other staff support forums and protected development time.
At Middlesbrough, we truly live our values and incorporate them into everything we do. We are passionate about improving the lives of our residents, focused on achieving best outcomes and creative in the way we work with people, ensuring they get the best support available.
If you are a qualified Social Worker with the skills and the drive to help continue to improve services and support for our adults, this could be the opportunity you have been waiting for.
