The NET Recruit team are delighted to be partnering with an automotive company, who are seeking a Finance Administrator to join the team in the Portsmouth area. This is a key position within the finance department, to support senior finance professionals with transactional day-to-day tasks, in order to keep the business operational. The position holder will have exposure to a range of areas within the team, and be able to provide important financial information, reporting and analytics to support decision making, the audit process, and special projects from time-to-time.
Your Roles and Responsibilities:
- Handling both accounts payable and receivable duties, including invoice coding and processing, data entry, payment processing, collections, customer account reconciliations and maintaining the sales and purchase ledgers
- Processing both supplier invoices and employee expense reports
- Conducting both bank and monthly reconciliations to trial balance, as well as ensuring transactions are recorded accurately in the general ledger
- Posting journals such as petty cash, intercompany and credit cards
- Monitoring aging reports for the accounts receivable, ensuring customers are followed up with to collect overdue payments
- Keeping in good communication with customers regarding any financial issues, including ones related to billing, payment discrepancies and disputes and ensuring that accurate records for all interactions are kept
- Updating and maintaining financial records and documentation to support the audit process
- Providing ad-hoc support on interesting finance projects, including financial analysis as it is required
What you will need to Apply:
The ideal candidate for this role will have previous financial experience, particularly with transactional financial duties including the sales and purchase ledgers and have a good understanding of accounting fundamentals. Good knowledge of accounting software is sought after, especially with Sage Line 200 in particular. It would be highly beneficial for applicants to be working towards an accounting qualification such as AAT and also to possess relevant sector knowledge of the automotive industry, however this is not essential. Applicants should have good analytical skills, as well as strong communication abilities.
Applicants should have a full clean driving license.
