We are working with a wonderful newly built nursery close to Greenwich, looking for a Nursery Room Leader to join the team.

The Nursery Room Leader plays a critical role in creating a safe, supportive, and educational environment for young children in their care while also managing the operational aspects of the nursery. This is a chance to influence and input into a well-run team as they grow in the community. This role responsible for overseeing a specific group or classroom of children. This role involves planning and implementing educational activities, ensuring the safety and well-being of the children, and supervising other staff members in the room. The nursery has been designed with the values of that a shared. With lots of transport links and an experienced team on hand, every child that comes to the nursery will be eager to learn!

Responsibilities: 

  • Create a loving, nurturing, and inclusive atmosphere where each child feels valued and safe
  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and training to nursery practitioners in your room
  • Maintain open and effective communication with parents or guardians, providing regular updates on children's progress and daily activities
  • Delegate responsibilities, set goals, and ensure a collaborative and effective team environment

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • A recognized Level 3 childcare qualification, such as a CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Childcare and Education or equivalent
  • Prior experience working in a nursery or early childhood education setting
  • Familiarity with early childhood educational practices, curriculum planning, and teaching methods
  • The ability to organize and manage daily routines, activities, and records efficiently
  • Work in a patient and methodical manner
