Role: Solution Architect

Location: Ipswich, London and Birmingham (Hybrid , 2 days week work from office)

Responsibilities

  • Create Transformative designs and end to end solutions using Supply Chain knowledge.
  • Identify the impacted business areas and support the business change and the integrations that drive successful implementations.
  • Understand complete supply chain landscape and be able to assess technical impacts with any changes.
  • Work across all of BTs Line of Businesses and product lines to create integrated, consolidated platforms.
  • Work with Solutions Architects, Platform and Component designers to ensure the solutions developed will drive value through return on investment and simplified process and integrations for future growth.
  • Be able to work using Agile methodologies and support the adoption of Agile.
  • Documentation of processes and organize training sessions as needed.
  • Work with various stakeholders independently and be able to lend a helping hand to principal solution architect for supply chain.

  • Identifies opportunities to improve standards of practice within a project, continuously enhancing ways of working.
  • Delivers resolutions to problems that tend to be complex, cross-domain or of high impact to customers.
  • Creates and implements technical solutions for a domain or cross domains / portfolios of work within a specific technology area autonomously, understanding how solutions impact systems internally and/or externally and assessing impact of change.
  • Designs solutions that are scalable, adaptable & cost effective in line with business needs and manage the integration of the design.
  • Provides technical expertise to inform contract and commercial management.
  • Delivers and designs components of end-to-end technical solutions based on specific requirement using standard approaches in line with the wider technical strategy or roadmap.
  • Provides in-life support for issues related to their specific solution and root cause analysis for their own designs.

Expected Experience

  • Creating E2E designs in complex environments with demanding stakeholders.
  • Supply Chain SD knowledge and experience is must.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a functional consultant and designer.
  • Knowledge of inventory management, shipping/logistics and transport management is required.
  • Strong knowledge of Supply Chain integration with external systems or non-Supply Chain systems is required.
  • Defining Secure and resilient integrations with business-critical data.
  • Working within an architectural and security framework in BT these are ACF and SACS processes.
  • To suit the needs of a customer, colleague, or client; moved outside of expected process or practice.
