Admissions and Attendance officer

A Secondary School based in Ilford are looking to employ an Admissions and Attendance Officer as soon as possible. This is a full time role, Monday to Friday.

The successful applicant will have:

• Significant administration experience in a busy, professional, educational environment.
• Capita SIMS experience
• Good communication, ICT and organisational skills, with a high level of accuracy and efficiency.
• The ability to work on their own initiative and an eye for detail.
  
  

The general duties include:

• To receive visitors and parents to the Academy and communicate with courtesy and clarity to all staff, students, parents, carers, visitors, outside agencies and the wider community, including answering general telephone and face to face enquiries.
• To assist in student first aid and welfare duties
• Input and checking of all new Year 6 student data
• Work with Y7 progress leader to produce spreadsheets/letters and open day information
• Return updates to admissions on current numbers
• Responsible for inputting and updating all student records, importing files to and from other schools and informing the relevant people of any changes made on all pupils
• Supporting the follow up of any unexplained absences with parents/carers, escalating issues as appropriate in line with school procedures
• Participate in IYFAP meeting decisions made around admissions and prepare casework for submission to IYFAP appeals.
• Meet new families, input new arrivals data onto Academy system and liaise with previous schools obtaining data
• Liaise with staff re timetable, form group, SEN, EAL details and any other relevant issues
• Liaise with Parents/Carers on information regarding the Academy and the completion of forms or acceptances
• Supporting the managed move process as and when necessary
• The input and upkeep of the school ‘free school meals’ register and complete and return the FSM Census.
