Job Title: Residential Support Team Leader
Main Purpose of Job
To be part of a team offering a comprehensive residential service to children and young people. The aim being to ensure the physical, social, and emotional well-being of the children and young people and assist in their positive holistic development and resilience.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
· To actively safeguard and promote the welfare of the children/young people.
· To report immediately any unsafe practices and conditions.
· To carry out duties in line with the company’s policies and procedures.
· To work in accordance with the Children’s Homes Regulations, other statutory guidance, and co-operate with any inspection process.
· To promote structure, boundaries, and routines within the home.
· Provide a positive role model for the children/young people, presenting oneself in a highly professional manner.
· Work in line with children’s/young peoples’ care and placement plans.
· As required work with children/young people on intervention strategies to promote pro-social behaviour.
· To undertake the role of a key worker for children/young people.
· To deliver direct and individual work to children/young people.
· Support young people in project and group work.
· Provide and participate in leisure activities in line with the care and placement plans of the children/young people.
· Work in partnership with colleagues, other agencies, and professionals to meet the needs of children/young people.
· Develop and maintain professional working relationships with colleagues, children/young people, and families.
· Participate in and complete reports for, statutory reviews and meetings concerning the children/young people where required.
· Complete and maintain administrative records as required by the home.
· Undertake relevant training programmes as required by governing regulation, guidance, and the Company.
· Attend and participate in supervision and staff meetings as required by governing regulations.
· Have awareness and take shared responsibility for the health and safety of the home, children, young people, colleagues, and oneself.
· Co-operate with the Company in complying with the Health and Safety requirements and therefore follow Company policies.
· Take responsibility for having sound working knowledge of key procedures including Safeguarding, Fire, and Health and Safety Procedures at your place of work.
The post holder may be reasonably expected to undertake other duties commensurate with the level of responsibility that may be allocated from time to time. It is the responsibility of the post holder to always comply with Health and Safety and Equal Opportunities requirements.
