Finance Director

I am exclusively partnering with an established SME Manufacturing organisation to recruit a dynamic and commercially astute Finance Director, to join the board at an exciting time for the business.

They have grown their revenue significantly, further invested in their facilities, and are now embarking on a journey that will see them take the organisation to its next level. The role of Finance Director will play an instrumental part in helping them achieve their strategic goals and objectives.

You will join at this critical stage of the company’s development to implement the finance strategy. As a strategic business partner this role will be a catalyst for change and be a creative and constructive disruptor to business thinking and approach.

You will have the opportunity to shape and lead the Finance activities and associated practices for an exciting expanding business, but also to partner with, coach and enhance the leadership of the business.

The Role:

The role will lead a small but established finance function and help continue to drive the business forward, enabling them to make strategic and commercial decisions based upon sound financial assumptions. The Finance Director will ultimately have the energy and passion to grow the business.

The position requires an ambitious, strategically focused, senior finance professional who can demonstrate success in a SME, owner managed business where creative thinking and a dynamic approach is required and recognised.

You will be comfortable operating at board level, but equally as confident being hands-on and getting into the detail when required.

Responsibilities:

• Set clear strategy for the overall finance function and clearly show how this improves business performance
• Ensure that the finance function has robust processes that are able to scale as the business grows, producing timely, accurate financial information and disciplined financial controls
• Able to provide business performance analysis and valuation
• Provide all budgeting / forecasting and decision support material
• Handle all treasury matters, including managing external relationships
• Bring a strong financial perspective to strategic plans, including impacts on cash, growth and profitability

The essentials:

• Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
• Previous experience within a manufacturing SME business
• Strong business partnering and c-suite level engagement
• Ability to influence at all levels and build co-operative relationships
• The motivation and ambition to drive innovative thinking
• Articulate, assertive and an ability to hold colleagues accountable for achieving targets
• Good knowledge of appropriate ERP systems
