Product Design Engineer (Electronics)

Location: Isle of Wight

Salary: £50-55k

Job Type: Permanent

Our client is looking for a Product Design Engineer with a strong focus on electronic hardware development to take the lead on electronic aspects of the product lifecycle. This hands-on role involves working closely with a small, collaborative team, driving both new product development and the improvement of existing products.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the Technical Lead for electronic design, verification, and qualification.
• Oversee electronic design processes, including peer reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Provide technical mentorship and problem-solving support to the production team.
• Collaborate with the sales team on technical proposals and customer support.
  
  

Must-Have Skills:

• Proven experience in hardware design for embedded electronics.
• Proficiency in tools like Altium, LTspice, or similar design packages.
• Experience supporting products throughout their lifecycle.
  
  

Desirable Skills

• Experience with EMC-compliant design and knowledge of military specifications.
• Interest or experience in optical sensor design is a plus.

• Proactive in identifying issues and implementing solutions.
