Rate: £80 - £110 per day (depending on experience)

Hours: 8:30 – 15:30

SENDirect is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to work at a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Dagenham. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about supporting students who have experienced challenges in mainstream education. As a PRU Teaching Assistant, you will provide tailored support, helping students to build confidence, engage with learning, and develop social skills. Experience in a similar setting is preferred but not essential for the right candidate with the passion to make a difference.

Key Responsibilities

• Support teachers in delivering engaging, differentiated lessons.
• Provide 1:1 and small group support across various subjects.
• Help create a positive, inclusive classroom environment.
• Monitor and report on student progress and behaviour.
• Implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies.
• Foster relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  
  

Qualifications And Experience

• Experience working with young people in a PRU or similar setting (preferred).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Adaptability, patience, and resilience.
• Relevant qualifications or training in education or youth work (desirable but not essential).
