Job Description
Are you ready to make a significant impact on a dynamic and growing company? We are seeking a talented Chemist to join the R&D team at our Sheffield site. You will take part in the development and maintenance of the wood formulations within the labs.
Responsibilities
Your main tasks will be:
- Development of new products/formulations
- Reformulation of existing products and laboratory testing of formulations and products
- Management of projects through the stage-gate process from feasibility to scale-up
- Provision of support to the QA and Consumer Services Departments
- Advise plant on production batch corrections & complaint investigation
- Management of formulations/recipes within the company IT systems
- Benchmarking testing of woodcare products
- Evaluation and assessment of raw materials including supplier meetings
- Working to, and upholding ISO and safety standards
Qualifications
What we are looking for:
- Bachelor’s Degree in chemical engineering, chemistry, polymer/materials science or related technical discipline
- 3 year’s experience of working in a chemical laboratory
- Master’s Degree in chemical engineering, chemistry, polymer/materials science or related technical discipline
- Industrial chemistry experience
- Experience of decorative coatings products and/or woodcare products
- Six Sigma knowledge
- Previous laboratory experience essential
- Driving license is preferred due to occasional travel
