As a Mechanical/Fluid Systems Spares Support Engineer, you’ll be the go-to expert ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our gas turbine package auxiliary systems. Your role will be pivotal in identifying and sourcing alternative instrumentation and components due to obsolescence, making sure that our products continue to perform at their best. You’ll collaborate closely with various teams, tackling technical challenges, and making a tangible impact on the future of energy.
How You’ll Make An Impact
- Technical Evaluation & Sourcing: Lead the charge in identifying and sourcing equivalent components for our gas turbine package auxiliary systems. You’ll ensure that every replacement meets or exceeds original specifications, maintaining the high standards we’re known for.
- Documentation: Create and maintain precise engineering documentation, including detailed specifications and drawings, that will serve as the backbone of our operational excellence.
- Obsolescence Management: Take proactive steps to identify obsolete components and develop comprehensive change-out kits, ensuring the continued functionality and longevity of our systems.
- Collaborative Excellence: Work hand-in-hand with internal teams, regional divisions, suppliers, and customers to ensure that high-quality replacement parts are available within allocated timescales, keeping our projects on track.
What You Bring
- Educational Background: HNC in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
- Industry Experience: Proven experience in a Spares Engineering role within a related industry, with a preference for experience in Gas/Steam Turbine or Gas Compression auxiliary packaged systems.
- Technical Proficiency: Clear understanding of system components like pumps, valves, piping, actuators, and instrumentation. Knowledge of industry standards such as ISO21789, SIL, PED, and ATEX is essential.
- Software Skills: Experience using SAP, AUTOCAD, Siemens NX, and Siemens PLM is advantageous or other CAD software, along with strong capabilities in the MS Office Suite.
- Communication & Coordination: Outstanding communication and coordination skills, with the ability to effectively liaise with team members, other disciplines, suppliers, and customers.
- Problem-Solving Savvy: A proactive mindset with excellent problem-solving skills. You’ll be someone who thrives on overcoming complex engineering challenges with attention to detail and clear thinking.
- Project Management: Ability to juggle multiple spares projects simultaneously and deliver within tight deadlines.
