Technip Energies and their partners was awarded an Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contract for the world’s first commercial scale gas-fired power station with carbon capture. The construction site is in the Tees Valley in the North-East of England.
Job Purpose
We are seeking a Sustainability Officer to join the Project team on this first of a kind project. The successful candidate will be site based once the site office is established (within 12-18 months) but until then, will work on a hybrid basis, attending the Milton Keynes and London offices as required.
You will be expected to:
Develop and implement sustainability strategies for the project in alignment with client and company organizational goals.
Collaborate with the project team to promote and integrate sustainable practices into project execution and operations, including frameworks, processes, and procedures.
Identify, monitor, and report on key sustainability performance indicators.
Foster awareness and engagement among project team members regarding sustainability initiatives, as well as from external stakeholders, suppliers, and contractors.
Regular reporting and coordination with partners and clients.
Main Accountabilities
Ensuring environmental impact assessments are conducted and recommendations for minimizing ecological footprint are considered.
Ensuring compliance with relevant environmental regulations and standards.
Identifying opportunities for resource efficiency and waste reduction.
Promoting and ensuring adequate learning and plans are in place in compliance with relevant standards, focusing on human rights, people development, diversity & inclusion, and personnel qualifications/learning.

Bachelor's or master's degree in environmental science, Sustainability, or related field.
Proven experience in implementing sustainability initiatives in project environments.
Nice to Have:
Knowledge of environmental regulations and best practices.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Analytical and problem-solving skills related to sustainability challenges.
