We are currently seeking an experienced Warehouse Manager to join a reputable, family-run SME based in Isle of Sheppey You will join a small and friendly team of dedicated individuals who operate within the events space. You will be responsible to lead and manage a small warehouse team, and will be overseeing the daily warehouse operation. With ambitious growth plans, and large market potential, you will be able to directly contribute towards to the success of the future of the business.
Key Duties and Responsibilities of a Warehouse Manager:
Manage the daily warehouse operations, ensuring hire items are returned to stock and accurately picked/loaded
Ensure the warehouse team works in an efficient and safe manner, and take responsibility for overall health and safety
Management of the warehouse team including performance, absence and overtime, and ensure the warehouse team perform at or above the agreed KPIs.1)
Seek to continuously improve the systems and processes to grow the business, drive improvements to the customer experience and improve efficiency. This will include initiating and leading projects to improve operational management systems, processes, and the continuous development of the company practices
Recruit and induct new team members
Ensure that the warehouse remains appropriately stocked at all times and that stock is well-managed
Ensure the premises are maintained in good working order
Ensure the warehouse team members have the correct training and certifications for using the forklifts
Provide cover for workshop and transport managers/supervisors for their absences and holidays
Inspect & approve of goods or equipment received & dispatched
Update and maintain computer systems, processes, and stock inventory
Use real-time data to increase accuracy and lower labour costs
Willing to pick & pack when needed
Requirements
Previous Experience in a warehouse management role
Significant experience of team management
Good foundation skills of Health & Safety within a Warehouse
Experience of working with and supporting others in achieving KPIs
Proactive, self-motivated, and work on own initiative
Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
Strong IT skills in MS Word, Excel and experience of using bespoke IT systems
Strong interpersonal and influencing skills
Willing to change existing methods and promote continuous improvement
