Unique Children's Services operates a group of residential homes.
We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Children’s Home Registered Manager to join our team.
Key Responsibilities but not limited to:
- As a Registered Manager, you will be responsible for all aspects of the day-to-day operations.
- To manage the residential home and ensure excellent operation of service in accordance. with relevant legislation, procedures, policies and the homes Statement of Purpose.
- To ensure compliance with the Children’s Homes Regulations (2015) and the Quality Standards.
- Manage, supervise and mentor staff; organise work patterns and training, and conduct and record regular supervisions and appraisals.
- Take the lead in ensuring an open culture is created, one in which children feel that they are listened to in a supportive and positive environment.
- To ensure that the environment is managed in line with all Health and Safety requirements and that this is reflected in monitoring, reporting and recording functions.
- Work closely with the Senior Management Team to ensure the home goes over and above in providing exceptional care.
- To manage resources effectively, including budgets, buildings and equipment.
Essential Criteria:
- Qualifications: Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare or equivalent.
- Experience: At least 2 years management experience within a children’s home as a manager with a thorough understanding of relevant legislation and best practice guidelines.
- (Deputy's are welcome with a minimum of 2 years managing £40k starting).
- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and motivate a team, with strong communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills.
- Child-Centered Approach: Commitment to providing high-quality care and support to children and young people, with a child-centered approach and a focus on promoting their well-being and development.
- Regulatory Compliance: Sound knowledge of Ofsted regulations, safeguarding procedures, and health and safety requirements within a residential childcare setting.
- Experience working with children with learning disabilities
- Achievements: minimum of Good to Outstanding Ofsted inspection ratings achieved (minimum 2 full reports) if an ofsted registered manager.

- The successful candidate will need to be approved by the appropriate statutory body. This will require full Ofsted registration in accordance with their respective conditions and timescales

28 days annual leave, rising to 33 with continuous service.
