A skilled onsite IT Support Technician with 1-3 years of experience is needed to join our team at Venom IT, a well-established and fast-growing UK-based MSP IT solutions company based in Cheshire, on a full-time basis.

Our key products include cloud, server, desktop and application support. Venom IT has many prestigious partners and has worked with several established enterprises.

You will report directly to the Technical Support Manager and work Monday through Friday, 9:00 am - 5:30 pm.

About The Role

This role would suit someone who likes to be out on Client Sites, is enthusiastic, motivated, proactive, and can work as part of a team as well as using their own initiative.

Travel will be required, and a company vehicle will be provided wherever possible.

Key Responsibilities

  • Configuring computer laptops, tablets, and PCs to meet various company specifications
  • Configuring internet access through phone hotspots for technicians
  • Onboarding of employees using Active Directory and proprietary systems
  • Troubleshoot and resolve user hardware and software issues in a timely and professional manner
  • Support applications for the internet and intranet
  • Travel will be required (>50%) - Company vehicles will be provided wherever possible
  • Flexibility to work after-hours as needed

Required Experience

  • 1-3 years of experience in user support, hardware/software requests and fulfilment
  • 1-3 years of experience supporting local and remote information technology users in a Windows OS environment
  • 1-3 years of experience with networking, TCP/IP, Windows servers
  • 1-3 years of experience with configuration of user laptops and desktops
  • Experience with supporting internet access through various modems and LAN connections would be very beneficial

Required Skills

  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (phone and in person).
  • Must be very presentable
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Maintains strong attention to detail in high-pressure situations
  • Experience installing and patching network cabling would be very beneficial
  • Data Centre experience would be a distinct advantage
  • Performs IMAC (Install, Move, Add and Change)
  • Conducts hardware and software maintenance and support
  • Complies with Quality Health Safety Environment (QHSE) and IT policies
  • Company Policy: Adhere to all company policies, procedures and values, ensuring compliance with all delegated authority guidelines

Technologies Used

  • Client Operating Systems - Microsoft Windows OS (Windows 7 to Windows 10), Apple OS X
  • Server Operating Systems - Microsoft Server 2003 to Server 2019, including Small business variants (2003, 2008, 2011)
  • Applications - MS Office suites, Citrix XenApp, Sage, SQL, Backup software, Hardware firewalls
