I have a FANTASTIC opportunity for an EXPERIENCED and COMMITTED individual to become a Deputy Manager within a BRAND NEW children's residential service in Chudleigh Knighton, Newton Abbot.
Deputy Manager Overview
Salary: £36,504 per annum
Location: Chudleigh Knighton, Newton Abbot (TQ13 postcode)
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Shift Pattern: 5 days a week
Due to the nature of the job and the activities involved, we are only able to consider applicants who have a full driver's licence and a car**

The Role
To encourage the young people to do activities and take responsibility for their own lives depending on their age.
To support the manager and team in all aspects of the day-to-day operations, including managing staff teams, and budgets and ensuring that the quality of the services provided meets expected care standards.
To keep the homely, friendly culture and environment of the homes.
To be able to deal with challenging behaviours when needed.
Protect children and young people from risks to their health and welfare.
Support the children and young people in the home and promote their independence and well-being.
Ensuring the safety of the young people and maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of the individual's; care plan, guidelines, reward system and preferred method of communication.
Supporting taxing behaviour safely and sympathetically.
Develop and maintain good working relationships with the staff, parents, Social Workers and other professionals involved in the young people's lives such as Psychologists.
Organise and participate in activities and holidays, ensuring risk assessments have been followed.
The Successful Candidate
Experience as a Children's Support Worker / Team Leader within a similar social care setting or with Young People ESSENTIAL
Level 3 NVQ in Children & Young People or equivalent ESSENTIAL
Hold a Full UK Manual Driving Licence, due to the nature of the role you may be required to transport the young people ESSENTIAL
Children Homes Regulations and Safeguarding Knowledge ESSENTIAL
