We are looking for a Content Executive to join our SEO team! This role can be based from our Stockton, Newcastle & Manchester sites.
This role is to be on an 8-month fixed-term contract with possible extension.
Your primary role will be to write on-page content for a range of clients in a wide range of forms. This can include landing page descriptions, blog content, CMS pages and white papers. This means you will write high-quality, engaging content which answers common user queries and paying close attention to key attributes such as title tags, keywords, internal and external links, utilising these attributes correctly to maximise performance. Your written content should naturally include relevant keywords which you will identify (including any variations) from SEO tools, such as SEMRush and AHRefs.
Key Responsibilities
- Write optimised landing page content including keywords and internal links
- Write optimised blog content including keywords, internal links, optimised title, and embedded images
- Create written content for content marketing campaigns
- Upload content to the relevant areas of the site using the Visualsoft admin
- Upload content to the relevant areas of the client's site using other platforms, such as Shopify and Magento
- Work closely with SEO Account Directors and the wider team to support on quarterly and yearly content strategy creation
- Work closely with SEO Account Directors and the wider team to input on content schedules
- Carry out keyword research using various tools (Google Keyword Planner, Ahrefs, SEM Rush)
- Create brand and customer personas as part of SEO onboarding
- Support with client-facing meetings with an SEO Account Director present
- Manage own workload and maintain individual and team KPIs
- Time-logging and time management using Teamwork
- Work with designers & developers to create large on-site content pieces (CMS pages, guides, interactive content)
- Be responsible for content-only projects
- Provide some assistance with tracking, reporting and providing detailed analysis of content performance
- Assist with content-relevant strategy tasks (keyword sitemaps, competitor analysis, product-page optimisation, tag analysis)
- Attend & deliver presentations in client-facing meetings independently if needed
- Maintain client contact and relationships where needed
- Continually expand knowledge & understanding of wider SEO practices
Requirements
- Experience writing for the web
- A good understanding of how to create content that attracts a range of audiences and personas.
- Basic knowledge & understanding of wider SEO practices or willingness to learn
- A meticulous approach to grammar, spelling, blog structure, and providing the highest-quality copy possible
- Ability to come up with creative content ideas
- Excellent time management and communication skills
- A willingness to learn how wider SEO (including technical, outreach & strategy) works alongside content creation
- Ability to foster strong relationships at all levels
- Understanding of how marketing decisions affect the commercial elements of a client's business
- Cross-discipline understanding. Awareness of how an individual specialism interacts with other channels
- Current knowledge of all key industry news and algorithm changes
- Some understanding of key content-relevant technical SEO concepts (indexation, duplication, site architecture, page speed)
- Excellent analytical and organisational skills
