We are looking for a committed, enthusiastic & passionate cook to join our friendly team at Pen Inney House, to provide nutritious and delicious meals for our residents using fresh and locally sourced ingredients (where possible).
Westheath Care Homes (Staffing) Ltd provides care staff to five care homes owned and operated by a private company located in Bodmin, Lanivet, Lewannick (Nr Launceston) and Bude area.
All of which have obtained and maintained a ‘Good’ CQC rating.
We provide high standards of person-centred care to a wide range of elderly and disabled people from St Austell on the South coast to Bude on the North coast with a dedicated team of Care assistants and a strong team of experienced managers that have a high number of years working in care.

Following an interview and references an Enhanced DBS check that will be carried out by the company on you prior to final confirmation of a job offer (this will be paid for by the company - but may be repaid to the company should you leave within a 3-month period)
Key Requirements
- 1 Year experience preferred
- Good timekeeping and management
- Ensure that a good standard of hygiene and cleanliness is maintained throughout the kitchen, to meet the required standards of practice prescribed by Environmental Health Agencies
- To conform to the Care Home’s Food Hygiene procedures
- Ensure all equipment used is well maintained, in good working order, log any defects and report to the manager
- To prepare, cook and present well-balanced meals and beverages to the highest quality incorporating, cultural and dietary needs in a timely manner as required by the residents and staff of the home.
- Work closely and liaise with residents to plan menus that reflect choice, preferences, and dietary needs
- Purchase supplies in accordance with the planned menu, whilst monitoring and controlling the service from suppliers
- Ensure high standards of cleanliness within the kitchen at all times adhering to food hygiene and safety standards
- Work closely with the Home Manager, by maintaining the catering budget.
- Ensure all stock ordered is consistent with planned menus
- Record food temperatures
- Participate in staff meetings and in staff training where applicable
- Report and record in the appropriate manner any information considered to be important to the Homes Manager
- Adhere to Westheath Care Homes policies and procedures
- Any other duties that the post holder may reasonably be expected to perform

- Regular supervision and appraisals
