Our Accommodation site in Cambridge has 80 rooms, providing a home for 16-25-year-olds. We have a fantastic team of accommodation workers, providing ongoing support and encouragement to the young people living at Queen Anne House, which is located in the centre of Cambridge by Parkers Piece, easy to get to via public transport, or if you travel by car we have free onsite car parking too.

Job Role

As an Accommodation Night Worker you will assist in the running of the residential areas of the project ensuring a high level of working practice.

Main duties of the role are to encourage and oversee the safety and security of the YMCA Trinity Group’s staff, clients and premises. To maintain high standards of supervision and support in order to create an environment that is homely, welcoming and safe in which clients are able to engage and develop.

Skills And Experience

Applicants should have the following qualities:

  • Experience of working with young people with complex needs, although not necessarily in a housing context
  • Experience of dealing directly with clients
  • Ability to work within a reactive environment
  • A good level of education and good interpersonal and organisational skills
  • Able to interact with people from varied backgrounds
  • Have excellent communication skills, able to work as part of a team, working unsociable hours
  • Have an understanding of current mental health issues
  • Be able to manage challenging behaviour and interact with young people in a positive and confident manner

Days and hours

4 on 4 off rota pattern including weekends & public holidays. Start and finish times are 10pm-8am.

Salary and Benefits £23,795.20, hourly rate £11.44
