Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate an SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team. As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers to support the educational and developmental needs of students. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of children.
Duties:
- Assist teachers in implementing lesson plans and educational activities
- Provide one-on-one support to students with special education needs
- Help create a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Support students in their academic, social, and emotional growth
- Assist with classroom management and behavior management strategies
- Collaborate with teachers and other staff members to develop individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs
- Communicate regularly with parents and caregivers regarding student progress
Requirements:
- Experience working with children, preferably in an educational setting
- Knowledge of special education principles and practices
- Ability to effectively educate and engage students with diverse learning needs
- Experience working with individuals on the autism spectrum is highly desirable
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to build rapport with students
- Ability to adapt to changing situations and handle challenging behaviours
