Aeronautical Engineering Manager manages the design of aircraft and helicopter parts and propulsion systems to optimize aerodynamic performance and promote safe, efficient, and reliable operation. Implements organizational policies and procedures to optimize workflow and ensure compliance with all federal regulations. Being an Aeronautical Engineering Manager facilitates innovation by remaining up to date on technology advancements for application on design improvements of aeronautical products. Communicates and negotiates with supply vendors to compare quotes to reduce costs and lead time and reports findings for analysis or comparison. Additionally, Aeronautical Engineering Manager assists with the evaluation of new or existing suppliers, products and materials, or technologies. Typically requires a master's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Aeronautical Engineering Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions.
