Job Description for Materials Planning Assistant I

Materials Planning Assistant I performs clerical functions to assist material planners in coordinating raw materials for efficient production. Uses MRP system to monitor and track materials from purchasing, processing, warehousing, and production. Being a Materials Planning Assistant I inputs material needs, including all codes, brands, and contact information necessary to process orders in system or database. Tracks and develops reports to monitor performance metrics such as inventory levels, scheduled deliveries, and supplier performance. Additionally, Materials Planning Assistant I resolves simple issues or errors and escalates larger problems to necessary supervisors. Requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Materials Planning Assistant I works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area.
