Utilizes standard procedures to conduct routine inspections of equipment and finished material to ensure compliance with established calibration standards. Being a Precision Tool Inspector verifies accuracy of measuring instruments and tests units for precision to ensure function. Employs optical instruments to examine measuring instruments for wear, damage, and defects, and makes adjustments to inaccurate instruments. Additionally, Precision Tool Inspector understands industry and quality concepts and standards such as ISO, GMP, and NIST. Requires a high school diploma or graduation from a technical or trade school. Typically requires State License. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Precision Tool Inspector works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline.
