Summary:
The Brand Manager and Account Executive will be responsible for overseeing and managing client accounts, serving as the day-to-day point of contact for clients, and helping clients strategize to get the most return from their marketing investment. He/She will work with specific clients and oversee the execution of the tactical marketing plan, while acting as an extension of the client’s marketing team, aligning with the client’s sales team, pivoting to re-prioritize and manage work to the allotted hours as clients’ needs change.
Detail-oriented, self-directed, and meticulous, the Brand Manager and Account Executive will be excited to help create, and then independently execute marketing plans while ensuring every task is completed.
This role requires that the candidate learn and execute projects according to the Agile Marketing method. This means that he/she will also attend weekly/bi-weekly planning meetings and work to keep the marketing process efficient and effective. The goal of this position is to retain and grow existing clients by driving results for them, consistently showing them ROMI and activity reporting as a reminder of why they love working with 1 Bold Step.
Part creative, part wordsmith, part data geek, and part taskmaster, this position will allow the right person to take on multiple client marketing plans and drive results.
Responsibilities Include:
- Attend and participate in annual marketing strategy meetings and quarterly reviews for clients to brainstorm and set the marketing focus areas and initiatives for the next year.
- Manage a set “book of business” based on selected clients, retaining and if possible, growing their monthly retainer by solving their marketing problems (“Be the aspirin; not the headache”).
- Find & execute new marketing tactics for clients by staying on top of trends, energetically introducing new ideas to both clients and the 1 Bold team (love finding new and creative ways of driving growth)
- Act as an extension of a client’s marketing department, filling roles as identified during planning sessions. This means sometimes leading a project and sometimes jumping in to fill a gap or missing role. Whatever it takes to get it done successfully.
- Set up and execute ongoing inbound and outbound content strategies and campaigns that enhance the client’s brand and increase web-search visibility for lead generation.
- Contribute to 1 Bold Step’s own marketing by writing blogs and newsletter introductions, attending and contributing to webinars, and sharing relevant and interesting posts on his/her social channels.
- Attend and run weekly/bi-weekly client meetings to manage the execution of the marketing plan, including tasks assigned to client employees as well as others at 1 Bold Step.
- Create, manage, execute, track, and improve (continuously) ongoing digital marketing campaigns that may include outbound and inbound tactics as well as paid and organic tactics.
- Using 1 Bold Step processes and templates, create and adhere to client marketing plans and budgets.
- Manage the shared services team (SEO, digital ads, copy/content, Hubspot admins, digital campaigns, websites, outbound/inbound) at 1 Bold Step as needed to complete client initiatives. This includes helping them understand the goals, drafting campaign briefs, reviewing assets, and getting client approval.
- Analyze and understand the integration points between various sales and marketing databases and online analytics tools to PROVE return on marketing spend.
- Utilize and manage MA and CRM systems, understanding integration challenges and working with others to create a seamless, 360 view of contacts.
Experience/Education:
- At least 8 years of related Marketing experience
- Marketing management and strategy/planning experience preferred, especially experience with marketing for software development (SaaS) and/or technology companies
- Bachelor's Degree; business or communications
- Experience with paid media strategy
- Marketing automation platform (Hubspot) and CRM experience
- Experience working with a lead qualification teams (BDRs/ISRs) to hold them accountable for lead nurturing a plus
- Working knowledge of Asana or similar project management software
- Excellent business writing skills
- Excellent communication skills including empathetic problem-solving
- A “Get it done” and “I’ll figure it out” positive attitude
