Summary of Job:The Billing Specialist I position is responsible for providing claim processing, data entry and administrative support functions for the organization's Billing Department.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs data entry of bills for the organization.
- Processes billing information from FaxServer files and attaches files to medical records as appropriate to assure confidentiality of all documents.
- Works in conjunction with other Billing staff to assure timely completion of billing functions.
- Routes bills to appropriate staff that cannot be entered immediately.
- Maintains and organizes filing system to assure confidentiality of all documents.
- Understands and adheres to RI International compliance standards as they appear in the Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policies.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically with Excel (spreadsheets).
- Experience using databases.
- Ability to exercise considerable judgment and discretion.
- Ability to effectively plan, organize and prioritize multiple tasks of varying degrees of difficulty and provide for completion of assignments in a timely manner.
- Ability to pay attention to detail.
- Ability to travel throughout the region.
- Ability to maintain sensitive information in a confidential manner.
- Effective interpersonal skills and ability to interact with all levels of staff, external providers and customers.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of one (1) year of office experience required.
Driving Requirements:
- If driving is required for this position, must meet all requirements outlined in RI International driving policy.
- If not qualified to drive per driving policy, a Non-Driver Attestation form must be signed.
