Schedule: Full time - 36 hours/week or greater Shift: First Shift (Days - Less than 12 hours per shift) (United States of America) Weekly Work Schedule: M-F; 8-4:30 Job Information Exemption Status: Non-Exempt A Brief Overview This position is responsible for the prompt reception and registration of patients in an accurate and courteous manner. Other functions include scheduling cases, patient charges, maintaining visit logs and medical records, answering phone calls and other clerical support as needed by the department. Education Qualifications High School Diploma GED is also accepted. Required Associate's Degree Preferred Experience Qualifications 1 year Experience in customer service. Required Experience in an office setting. Preferred Billing or payment processing experience. Preferred Experience typing or using a computer. Preferred Skills and Abilities Knowledge of patient rights and laws relative to those rights, such as HIPAA Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions. Knowledge of organizational structure, workflow, and operating procedures. What you will do Receives patients, physicians, and employees to the department. Collects all necessary demographics, information and documentation to accurately process the individual. Schedules appointments, tests, procedures or lab work for the department. Answers department phone, answers questions or transfers the caller as appropriate. Is able to answer basic questions about the department's functioning. Assists with department administrative or clerical processes. Assists with department communication as needed. Maintains accurate records in department systems. Conducts reports for the department as necessary. Assists with insurance processing and authorization. Assists with on-boarding new staff into the department. Communicates to department personnel to ensure staff are aware of necessary events or information. Assists in the billing process. Receives and distributes mail/packages.
