Visit http://www.analog.com. The Platform IP Development group is seeking an experienced and highly technical, principal-level digital/mixed-signal IC designer to join our team. As part of this role, you will develop key strategic IP in fine-line process nodes that will be leveraged across multiple businesses/product opportunities throughout the company. A key focus area for this position includes interacting with internal customers to communicate, improve, and maintain developed IP. Primary IP design area targets digital/mixed-signal; however, design efforts will span a wide application range including precision references, IOs, power, and mixed-signal/analog circuitry. Responsibilities include: Design, simulation, and verification of digital and mixed-signal integrated IP and IP collateral for customers, taking developments from definition to completion in fine-line process nodes Working closely with analog engineers to create digital control, calibration, and interface circuits for mixed-signal IP designs and for chip-level IP integrations Creating, when needed for a mixed-signal IP or chip-level IP project: RTL and analog models, hard and soft digital macros, custom and standard I/O interfaces, register and test maps, and verification with IP collateral for customers Working with digital back-end engineers to derive synthesis, scan test insertion, place-and-route, timing closure, verification, and timing model creation Documenting and presenting each digital design and corresponding results Working closely with IP team and IP customers to define mixed-signal design best-practices, define system interfaces to IP and optimize IP digital partitioning for customers Supporting characterization/debugging in the lab/ATE environments Working with designers and teams across the company to support IP development and integration Qualifications/Requirements: MSEE or PhD, concentration of digital or mixed-signal IC design 12 years relevant design experience in fine-line processes including mixed-signal IC design Good written and verbal communication skills (clarity of message with good attention to detail) Efficient and organized work methodology for optimal multi-tasking Understanding of the differences and challenges of mixed-signal design and their digital design requirements Comfortable using standard digital design/simulation tools and Cadence environment Ability to problem solve at all levels of design from gates to systems Ability to work independently and also collaborate as part of team Passionate about learning different areas in design, applications, and products For positions requiring access to technical data, Analog Devices, Inc. may have to obtain export licensing approval from the U.S. Department of Commerce - Bureau of Industry and Security and/or the U.S. Department of State - Directorate of Defense Trade Controls.
