Finance Controller

Trimble Transportation is transforming its business model from an on premise perpetual software and a standalone hardware business to a set of cloud enabled SaaS and HaaS offerings. The sector is in the early stages of a shift to a subscription business model. The Sector is looking to add a results driven finance professional to drive change and help implement the strategy through financial reporting, forecasting and business support. The role will predominantly support the finance leader and general manager of the Carrier TMS and Shipper business (NA Enterprise Division), but will also support the Sector VP of Finance in sector wide work including M&A, budgeting and business modeling and analysis. Key Responsibilities SaaS Metrics Develop and report out key SaaS metrics consistent with Trimble Corp definitions, engage with business leaders to understand inputs and drive change. Subscription Shift Ability to calculate and report out the revenue valley impact from a shift from perpetual software revenue to subscription revenue Professional Services Create key professional services KPI’s and report timely. Work closely with leadership to help using finance metrics a profitable and highly utilized services organization. Forecasting Support for the month, quarter, and annual forecasting processes with clear communication of assumptions and major trends and variances. Month End Close Support month and quarter end close as needed with a focus on Revenue Recognition support, SSP analysis and understanding large deals for SEC compliance reporting. QBR Support the timely completion of the finance sections of Quarterly Business Review MD&A. Sector Work Support Sector VP with analysis and modeling in areas such as M&A (deal model), cross sell/upsell analysis, Sector metrics and other work to be defined. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or business administration. A minimum of 4 years’ experience in a similar role in a SaaS business with a deep understanding of Enterprise SaaS business models. Demonstrable ability to interrogate, analyze, consolidate and automate the reporting of information from disparate CRM and ERP systems. Software revenue recognition experience at an intermediate level. Ability to communicate clearly and forge strong relationships with multiple colleagues in multiple time zones.
