Program Summary

KBR maintains and manages Army prepositioned stocks at the Army Field Support Battalion – KBR maintains and manages Army prepositioned stocks at the Army Field Support Battalion - Charleston (AFSBn-CHS) land site and aboard ship to include all logistics and maintenance operations. The KBR APS-3 Program is managed and executed at Goose Creek, SC in support of the Army’s power projection doctrine and resources.  The contract provides maintenance of APS-3 stocks (Class II, IIIP, IV, VII, IX) to ensure that unit sets stored aboard marine vessels are configured and maintained at optimal readiness. KBR provides limited maintenance and supply support aboard ship to ensure that equipment sets are maintained in a ready condition for emergency download and issue to operating units at the direction of the US Army. KBR also provides maintenance services and logistical support for other Army programs, IAW individual scope of work contract requirements.

Job Summary

The Supply Technician is the most senior employee within the Container Operations team after the Supervisor.  The team consists of 12 employees.  In support of the section supervisor, the Supply Technician provides leadership and direction to all members of the team.  The Supply Technician directs the flow of information to facilitate the team’s daily operation.  Further the Supply Technician is the technical expert within the section to research and train other employees regarding SOPs, DOD regulation, and software systems.  GCSS-Army is the primary software system used at APS-3 (SAP based system).  The Supply Technician also participates in container management to include CSC inspections of ISO shipping containers. Provides guidance and training to lower-level supply personnel, e.g., Warehouse Specialist, Stock Clerk, shipping Receiving Clerk and assists the Supervisor.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Perform day-to-day routine tasks, in accordance with established guidelines, and receive specific guidance from the supervisor

  • Coordinate with shops to ensure items are picked up/delivered and signed for in a timely manner

  • Maintain paperwork and files

  • Conduct inventories to maintain 100% accountability of material

  • Systemically update information in GCSS-Army

  • Update and create data/reports using Microsoft Office

  • Must be able to conduct causative research

  • Other duties that may be assigned to meet company and departmental goals and

Basic Qualifications (Required Education, Experience, Skills, and Certifications)

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.

  • Must be able to pass background check to obtain and maintain local base access.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC).

  • Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.  Some additional education preferred but not required.

  • Must be very detail oriented and able to multi-task and prioritize

  • Requires at least 2-4 years of relevant work experience.

  • Must be familiar with purchasing and logistics; some familiarity with accounting preferred but not required.

  • Must be familiar with military and commercial equipment maintenance especially as it relates to technical manuals and identifying correct parts and service required for certain repairs. 

  • Must be able to interact with Quality department regarding writing Statements of Work (SOW) for procurement of services.

  • Must have strong computer skills and be highly proficient with MS Office Suite. 

  • Must possess a valid State Driver’s License.

  • Must comply with all established methods, safety standards, quality standards, and time schedules applicable to this position.  This includes working overtime as required to support the work schedule, occasionally working as much as seven 10-hour days per week.

Preferred Qualifications (Preferred Education, Experience, Skills, and Certifications)

  • Experience minimum in warehousing/logistics or related on the APS-3, 4, or 5 programs

  • Expertise in G-Army, CMOS, and LOGSA platforms such FEDLOG

  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft office products

  • Expertise in meeting the requirements of the APS-3 PWS

  • Willing and able to occasionally work remotely from a TDY location for 2-4 months.

  • Experience in process improvement

  • Problem solving skills

  • Skilled in using of various Microsoft Office programs, basic skills in Excel and Outlook

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to stand - between 2 to 3 hours per day.

  • Must be able to walk - between 4 to 5 hours per day.

  • Must be able to Lift - up to 35 lbs.

  • Must be able to squat, kneel, bend, reach and climb periodically.

  • Must be able to work outside and inside in non-climate-controlled environments.
