Library Assistant

Under the supervision of the Manuscripts and Archives Management department staff, the library assistant will primarily aid in the preparation and moving of archival collections for the remote storage location project. The library assistant will receive training to perform essential departmental duties, including: Re-boxing, and re-foldering archival content. Labeling and barcoding archival boxes. Aiding in preservation procedures of archival collections. Assisting in transporting materials from different locations and shelving. Other various tasks that arise as necessary Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree. One year of relevant experience. Any relevant education, certifications and/or work experience may be considered. Good oral and written communication skills. Attention to detail. Must be able to work with fragile materials that may produce moderate dust environment, lift 40 pounds, push 50 pounds, and reach while on a stool. Must be able to handle multiple tasks and shifting priorities as driven by project needs.
