Position Summary:
We are seeking a hardworking and reliable Engineering Project Manager I to join our team. In this role, you will participate in many aspects of installation of critical infrastructure projects to ensure they progress on schedule and within budget. You will work closely with other technicians, Project Manager and EPMs to best understand the needs of the customer. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, very organized, and has hands-on experience with MDF and data center products.

Performance objectives

  • Perform basic battery and component installations in IT areas in accordance with established standards and procedures; always maintains safety and professionalism.
  • Designs equipment installation process utilizing thorough knowledge of equipment and its capabilities.
  • Can schedule, perform, and complete write-ups for site assessments.
  • Technical skills and knowledge of structured cabling systems
  • Assists in the promotion and sale of extra equipment.
  • Completely and accurately tests installed equipment, ensuring it is in proper working order prior to departure from installation site.
  • Provides a thorough explanation of equipment, its capabilities and operation to the customer; responds to all questions in a courteous and knowledgeable manner.
  • Accurately completes all necessary paperwork including but not limited to work orders, service orders, time logs, and emergency information schedules.
  • Maintains control of all assigned company property and ensures that equipment is always maintained in safe operating condition.
  • Exhibits appearance and conduct in accordance with established company standards to present a professional image to customers and the public; maintains the highest degree of decency, honesty, and integrity as a guest in a customers’ business.
  • When on call, always ensures availability by telephone or emails for service calls.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Ability to work with one’s hands and think on one’s feet.
  • Continually required to utilize hand and finger dexterity.
  • Occasionally required to climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel or crawl.
  • Utilizes a computer and can sit at a desk for up to 8 hours per day.
  • Work from various heights via platforms, scaffolds, ladders, or man-lifts.
  • Must be able to lift to 50 pounds independently; lifting from knee to shoulder heights; other lifting required from various levels.
  • Must be able to carry and transport up to 50 pounds up to 20 feet.
  • Requires standing for extended period with frequent stretching, reaching, walking, and stooping, pushing and/or pulling in an environment that may be cold, hot, and noisy.
  • This position will require up to 60% travel but can be more frequent depending on the project.


Location: Roanoke, VA

Salary : $45,000 - $55,000
