Our 4Points general manager exemplifies the mission and vision of our company by providing professional and customer service-oriented services to our consumers. General store manager supervises the operational and organizational standards of the store. Duties include undertaking administrative tasks, monitoring inventory levels, developing business strategies and ensuring that company policies are upheld through the staff that they hire, train and supervise.
The general manager is responsible for improving customer satisfaction and meet monthly sales goals. In addition to being an excellent communicator, general manager also demonstrates outstanding leadership and interpersonal skills.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Deliver excellent service to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Assure all employees are always in proper uniform (hair net, name tag, etc.)
- Act quickly to change as directed by upper management.
- Motivate the sales team to meet sales objectives by training and mentoring staff.
- Maintain open door policies for staff under their supervision
- Create business strategies to attract new customers, expand store traffic, and enhance profitability.
- Build credit card business
- Respond to customer complaints and concerns in a professional manner.
- Perform onboarding functions:
- Interviewing, hiring, firing and promoting employees for the assigned job/position
- Demote those that are not performing to company standards as stated in company policies
- Open files for new employees and maintain files for existing employees
- Ensure store compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Prepare detailed reports on buying trends, customer requirements, and profits.
- Undertake store administration duties such as managing store budgets and updating financial records.
- Monitor inventory levels and order new items.
- Oversee all deliveries from vendors and other providers
- Keep daily interaction with Area Manager
- Collude with area manager for new ideas of the specific store location (i.e., recommending promotions)
- Develop and arrange promotional material and in-store displays
- Keep all fixed costs and variable cost at a minimum. Notify area manager of discrepancies.
- Keep office free of clutter and personal items
- Keep a spreadsheet of usernames, passwords in a secured and private place accessible to area manager and upper management.
- Keep an updated spreadsheet with list and contact information on vendors accessible to relevant staff and area manager
- Keep computer equipment and registers clean and with proper maintenance
- Responsible for cleanliness and proper maintenance of the inside and outside of the store
- Walk property at least daily to identify any repair or housekeeping needs.
- Report any damage or needs of fixing of structure or equipment to area manager
- Minimize losses in check cashing.
- Supervise/sign off on check cashing for new customers and over $1,000
- Promote check cashing business among visiting customers as well as nearby business
- Keep/open files for all check cashing customers
- Verify all deliveries
- Keep insurance policies and other stores licenses and certifications renewed and up to date
- Keep up with all petroleum regulations and laws
- Read and respond to all correspondence on a timely manner
- Adhere to allocated payroll hours as stated by upper management
- Review employee time punch and submit payroll every saturday
- Create and adjusts staff’s schedules as needed
- Review daily price changes in order to maximize revenue and profit margins. Communicate suggestions/concerns to area manager daily.
- Ascertain the amount of cash in cash register at beginning of shift
- Keep records of gasoline sales separate from other sales of the store. Create weekly/monthly report or as stated by upper management
- Be knowledgeable of sale programs from fuel companies
- Prepare financial balances for accountant at the end of the year
- Plan season (winter, fall, summer, spring) decorations, music, etc. at least one month in advance
- Perform proactive ordering of items needed in the store
- Assure product integrity
- Check emails a few times a day. Hourly if possible
- Assure that the store floor, cooler, deli, kitchen, outside gas pumps and stands are kept clean and stocked properly by following the assigned checklist for each
- Assure all items are priced properly
- Address trespassers
- Assure bathrooms are always clean (must make sure they are checked every 30min)
- Make sure coffee is always fresh
- Assess premises for any hazards
- Only general manager can make orders and supervise deliveries
- Must buy on deals
- If purchase was too expensive, responsible for getting a refund
- Promote 4Points among local businesses
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/ADDITIONAL SKILLS:
- College Degree
- At least three years of management experience
- Fluent in English
- Proficient in technology
- Attentive to customers’ needs
- Initiative to engage with customers and staff

Pay: $50,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
