Essential Duties
- Optimize the Service Department processes to ensure internal and external customer satisfaction, growing profitable service labor sales, assigning the proper Technicians to the repairs and monitoring repair times to be as efficient as possible. Assuring that the highest quality control is met to exceed the customers’ expectations and reduce customer down times.
- Communicate effectively with all Service, Parts, Sales personal and Customers.
- Assist Service Manager with Monthly Service meetings and assuring all Technicians attend Safety meetings.
- Assist Service Manager in Recruiting, hires, develops, and retains key talent through training and individual development plans.
- Identify what training each Technician needs and set Technician training goals.
- Assist Service Manager with all Technician annual reviews by being a contributor.
- Monitor all completed work orders and assure tech reports are correctly written and parts are in the proper segments, making sure work orders are delivered to the Service Writer for quick processing.
- Analyze service rework and take corrective action along with the Service Manager.
- Ensures the maintenance of the service department and yard areas, mobile equipment, service vehicles, shop equipment and tooling.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Service or Branch Manager.
Education and Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent experience.
- In-depth knowledge of heavy equipment technology and strong technical back ground.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a heavy equipment service department (or equivalent experience).
- Supervisory or management experience, with strong leadership skills, and excellent customer communication skills Internal and External.
- Stay up to date on all vendor training including JDU Learning Paths. Assist with organizing training classes.
- Professional appearance and organized work area.
