Plant Engineer

The Role This position is within the Care Solutions business segment and has responsibility at the Janesville plant engineering department in a plant engineering role which is multi-user site mainly focused on the practice of alkoxylation and quaternization based process technologies. This position will support primarily the Janesville site as well as regional support within Care Solutions. With regional support, this position will require travel based on where the support is needed. This position is responsible for providing mechanical integrity expertise and plant-wide mechanical integrity strategy. This position’s primary responsibilities are to improve and execute a site asset integrity strategy and improve site mechanical integrity processes, for both near-term and long-term planning. The position will utilize technical skills in troubleshooting, specifying replacement equipment, strategic planning, and supporting the overall mechanical integrity process. This position will provide plant engineering expertise in support of the elements of OSHA PSM (MOC’s, PHA’s, PSSR’s, P&ID’s, PSI, etc.) and is a key member of incident investigations and RCA determination. Completes assigned action items related to safety and equipment reliability. This position will support both expense and capital-based projects at the site, from conceptual design, through basic engineering and construction providing detailed scope of works containing equipment and sizing and specifications, pump and tank sizing, materials of construction, control strategies, P&ID’s, procedures, commission and startup new equipment and provides technical risk assessments. Optimize plant performance. Investigate where and why losses arise or can be reduced by identifying weak points and availably killers. REQUIREMENTS B.S or M.S. in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering required with > 3 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment preferred. Experience with OSHA CFR 1910.119 PSM and EPA RMP regulations and compliance is a plus. Chemical equipment and relief system design, sizing, and specification experience desired. Continuous Improvement, Lean Six Sigma and Total Plant/Process Management training and experience a plus. SAP knowledge and understanding is a plus. Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.
