JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensure high standards of cleanliness and hygienic practice throughout the kitchen
Operates in the absence of the Executive Chef and Sous Chef
Scheduling of staff according to budget and business forecast
Provide kitchen support for banquet functions
Practice safe work habits to ensure safety
Control portion sizes and quality of food
Collaborate with restaurant management and staff
Menu planning and designing the plating presentation for each dish
Hiring, coaching and disciplining direct reports
Interacting positively and professionally with guests to resolve issues
Perform various other duties as assigned to meet business objectives
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Requires 2-3 years in a related position.
Requires 2-3 years of post-high school education, preferably a culinary degree
Must possess strong leadership, communication, organization, and relationships skills
Union experience preferred
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Ability to multi-task
Must be able to stand for long periods of time, walking, pushing, lifting up to 25lbs, reaching, kneeling, bending
Open availability
Professional appearance and grooming standards
Team player
Ability to exceed expectations of guests
