JOB SUMMARY:
As an Internal Controls Examiner, you’ll contribute to 7-Eleven’s success by evaluating operational controls across a market area to support maximizing sales and profits.
Responsibilities
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:
Contribute to 7-Eleven’s success by evaluating operational controls across a market area to support maximizing sales and profits.
Evaluate store execution of internal control measures and determine if they are a root cause for specific financial issues.
Use judgment to determine if significant cash variation is the result of not reviewing individual employee cash balancing or determine if significant inventory shortage is the result of improper receiving, inventory management, write off execution, or some other cause.
Partner with stakeholders (Market and Area Operations leadership) for improvement across the operating area.
Provide feedback to Market Leaders regarding both Store Leader and Area Leader execution of internal controls, exercising discretion on when to escalate and drive for accountability when appropriate.
Manage confidential records and reporting to influence improvement in Store execution of internal controls.
Exercise discretion in making the determination if store level execution is related to a performance issue or lack of training.
Exercise judgment in escalating trends with Market Leadership and Human Resources for appropriate accountability measures.
Identify and partner to correct operational execution issues that may lead to theft or other financial losses before they occur.
Identify areas of opportunity for improvement and share best practices for achieving improved results.
Exercise judgment on when is the appropriate time to partner with Training department if trends indicate a training opportunity across a geographical area.
Identify and prioritize critical shortage stores for additional examination.
Exercise discretion in prioritizing stores with high shortage for additional scrutiny and review.
Exercise judgement in evaluating Area Leader action plans compared to specific issues at the store for compatibility.
Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: EDUCATION: High School/GED YEARS OF RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE: 2 years YEARS OF MANAGEMENT EXPERIENCE: 1 years CERTIFICATIONS / LICENSES: NA
SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: - Working knowledge of the day-to-day operation of a convenience store - Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Outlook, etc) - Excellent verbal and written communication skills
