This position will assist the Accounting Manager in creating and maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, reconciling accounts, generating reports for analysis, and maintaining compliance with regulations.

Responsibilities

• Process day-to-day accounting functions, including payroll, accounts receivable, accounts payable, deposits, and journal entries
• Conduct monthly reconciliations for bank, credit card, general ledger, and balance sheet accounts
• Collaborate with departments to prepare accurate financial records
• Support month, quarter, and year-end close processes, including financial statement and budget report preparation
• Process federal and multi-state payroll tax, sales tax, and other tax payments
• Assist with oversight of other accounting team member duties
• Conduct accounting research, resolve discrepancies, and generate ad-hoc reports
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and suggest solutions
• Adapt to changes in the accounting process and update SOPs
• Provide general administrative support for all departments
• Other areas of responsibility as assigned

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field, or equivalent work experience strongly preferred

Experience

• 2-5 years of accounting/bookkeeping experience.
• Proficiency in accounting principles, practices, and standards including knowledge of GAAP and accrual based accounting
• Experience with advanced Microsoft Excel functions such as pivot tables, table filtering, vlookup, hlookup and sumif.
• Experience with Sage Intacct or comparable accounting software
• Experience with Paylocity or comparable payroll software
• Food and beverage, coffee and tea, or restaurant industry strongly preferred

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer screen

• Must be able to regularly lift at least 15 lbs at times
