8G Solutions is seeking a seasoned leader with strong glazing knowledge and a minimum of 10 years’ experience with fabrication/fabrication machinery to direct all shop operations where we prepare aluminum frames and doors to be delivered and installed on our projects in the Kansas City and NW Arkansas region.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record as a leader in running a commercial window manufacturing facility overseeing all facets (receiving, inventory, fabrication, assembly, glazing, packaging, storefront door fabrication, and shipping) and working effectively with field and project management staff to deliver quality systems and complete projects within the scheduled timeframes.

Role and Responsibilities:
The Director of Shop Fabrication ensures all operations within the shop are operating at the highest efficiency without sacrificing safety, schedule, or quality. This position is supported by department leads such as Fab Lead, Automation Lead, Door Lead, Assembly lead, Shipping/Receiving Lead, Project Management and Superintendents.
- Schedule, supervise, coordinate, inspect, and certify the work of the entire crew.
- Understand full fabrication scope of all jobs including shop drawings and fab drawings
- Review best practices for fabrication- Can we make is faster, simpler, safer, etc.
- Review delivery requests, pallet schedules, and equipment needs.
- Supervise the storage of glass, glazing materials, and tools at the shop.
- Ensure all items are safely stored, secured and only accessible by authorized 8G personnel.
- Instruct personnel in the proper use of tools, equipment, and materials.
- Prepare corresponding reports, procedures, and policies.
- Work with safety personnel to implement accident preventative measures.
- Plan, direct, and supervise the fabrication, glazing, unloading, and loading activities performed by shop and S/R personnel.
- Manage quality assurance and quality control.
- Set expectations and monitors results.
- Ensure all Standard Operating Procedures, health, safety laws and regulations are followed, and employees are held accountable for compliance.
- Ensure employees maintain a professional appearance.
- Manage shop labor and hours used on each project.
- Maintain a “Tour Ready” Indoor/outdoor campus
- Create the plan and remain disciplined to it.
Requirements:
- Construction Management or similar degree preferred.
- 10 years of experience in contract glazing shop operations; expert knowledge of all glazing systems, including unitized curtain wall.
- Proven ability to lead by example remaining positive and professional.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication and diplomacy skills.
- Demonstrated exceptional organizational skills and ability to prioritize and multitask
