Manages, organizes, develops and motivates a team or group of employees on a broad level of procedures and routines. Focus is on achieving operational targets in accordance with set short and medium term team targets. Monitors operations for efficiency and safety ensuring that all applicable regulatory requirements are met/followed. Leads and directs the work of others Develops production schedules to meet internal goals as well as expectations of customers. Oversees production staff Acts as liaison between Engineering and the Production floor with the intent of smooth transition / execution of drawings, job routing and general flow of production. Identifies bottlenecks in the factory and implements plans to eliminate them Continuously improve factory-wide communication while working with the Plant Operations Manager, direct reports and other department lead persons Closely monitors costs associated with the manufacturing process through the use of the operating system to monitor expended hours, job times etc. and identify problem areas that may cause cost overruns. Makes regular suggestions of solutions to improve on both cost and on-time delivery of products Create policies or procedures for logistics activities. Ensures adequate staffing levels through recruiting, interviewing, hiring and training personnel Manages and prioritizes work in in order to secure functional efficiency, providing effective support to operations thus ensuring goals for direct reports, impacting more than own unit Allocates resources and prioritizes tasks for assignments and projects, and coordinates resources within the group to ensure direct reports have clear roles and responsibilities on all assignments Gives input to budget and resource management on request from superior to facilitate the overall budgeting process for the area Coaches, shares knowledge and motivates team members in dealing with daily work to ensure the achievement of pre-defined targets Drives employees’ performance by conducting Performance and Development Reviews and designs individual development programs in order to secure employees are able and capable to perform, and agreed departmental objectives are met Ensures adherence to FLSmidth’s safety policy and follows up on compliance within own team Supervisory Responsibilities Directly supervises team leaders, supervisors and logistics manager. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include planning, assigning and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems.
