The Business Development Assistant is instrumental in assisting with the development and implementation of gathering and analyzing information for new business pitches, oversight of the internal team process and development for RFIs, RFPs, and pitch meetings, the development of prospect list and follow-up of those lists, identification of categories we want to go after and newsworthy happenings in the category and oversight and hands on development of promotional materials and communications.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Primary focus is to assist in the acquisition of new accounts
- Assist the Business Development Manager and CMO
- Assist in the implementation of an integrated marketing for the agency on social media and agency public relations
- Work closely with the department heads to develop timelines and keep the process on task during new business pitches
- Attend all new business prep meetings and provide follow-up on key elements
- Understand the unique balance and nuance between business/government relationships and creative strategy to provide a holistic approach to client needs
- Build on and lead the agency’s government process for creating new brand positioning
- Stay ahead of the curve on area of specialty/core competency
- Be a dynamic and inspirational presenter for both prospective and current clients
- Participate in new business development and collaborate with departments to create/revise client proposals
- Pursue new ways to contribute to overall agency and client profitability
- Manage the integrated marketing team, oversee day-to-day government accounts and assignments, and foster the team’s professional development
- Maintain new business asset library and contact status
- Limited travel as necessary
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 2-4 years of experience; preferably in an agency setting
- Strong writing skills
- Adaptable to a changing environment, quick worker
- Strong PowerPoint and organization skills
- Self-starter
- Exceptional written and verbal communications skills with attention to detail
