What are the responsibilities and job description for the Chef Partner position at A Corked Fork?
As a statewide restaurant group, we are looking for that exceptional, and ambitious partner to take on our Western Maine operation, and grow along with us. We have two restaurants, a catering company, a coffee roastery, and are looking to develop our presence and model in the Lake's Region.
Ancora is a wood-fired, Italian inspired restaurant focusing on farmed, or foraged foods whenever possible. We prioritize a positive work environment, and are exceptionally proud of the quality of staff and product we have achieved in our first 3 years of business. Sadly, our wonderful chef will be moving on to open her own farm stand, and though we couldn't be happier to have had the time we've had with her, we will need to start planning for the change this coming fall. We are looking for the right candidate to join us as a sous chef for the summer season, with the plan to be moving them into the chef partner role this coming October. Bridgton has been wonderfully welcoming, appreciative of our efforts, and supported us like family through the pandemic. Coming out of all of this we are looking forward to returning the love and providing them with a great place to gather and spend many more memorable evenings.
The top candidates for consideration would have scratch kitchen experience, be comfortable with wood-fire cooking, and best case scenario, would have some love for handmade pastas.
We have no tolerance for the angry chef character. Our building is a place of respect, it will be shown to you the first time you walk in the door, and that respect needs to be returned to our guests, our staff, and our property. If you know you struggle with this aspect of the job- please understand that no amount of talent with make up for an abusive management style. We don't have any wiggle room on this.
