POSITION SUMMARY:

The Program Manager is key to the success of the chapter and will report to the chapter executive director.  Duties include managing the planning and execution of chapter programs, family and volunteer recruitment, tracking and reporting event and engagement outcomes, and overseeing the communications of the chapter.  In coordination with the national team, training and on-boarding of direct reports is also the responsibility of this position.

A Kid Again fosters hope, happiness, and healing for kids with life-threatening conditions and their families. We do this through our Adventures – cost-free, care-free visits to amusement parks, sporting events, museums, holiday parties, and much more. We are condition agnostic – any child, birth to age 20, with a life-threatening condition can enroll for free with A Kid Again. And we serve their whole family including their parents and siblings, so that they can all take a time out from illness.  

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Supervise all aspects of A Kid Again programs called Adventures including securing venues, planning activities, securing in-kind donations, entertainment, ticketing, mailings, attendance tracking and reporting, and volunteer management.
  • Ensure national brand standards are adhered to within the chapter, including on social media channels, in communications and on event signage.
  • Assist the executive director in the development of the chapter’s budget and adhere to budget expectations and forecasting when planning events.
  • Recruit, train and engage volunteers for the chapter, holding meetings when necessary and providing regular communications. 
  • Oversee the chapter’s social media accounts and handle all email communications. This includes engaging with counterparts in other chapters, as well as the national Marketing team, in preparing messaging and the scheduling of communications.
  • Build and maintain relationships with hospitals and other organizations for referrals of families.
  • Assist in other aspects of chapter operations as assigned by the executive director.
  • In collaboration with the national team, train and on-board new program staff hired to the chapter.

 

 BACKGROUND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience (nonprofit preferred).
  • 3 years program/event creation and implementation experience.
  • Experience securing gifts-in-kind a plus.
  • Working knowledge and experience in Raiser’s Edge/Blackbaud (or other donor database), Microsoft Office, and other programs such as Classy, and WordPress preferred. Adobe and/or Canva experience a plus.
