Paralegal

The Automobile Club of Southern California is seeking a Paralegal to join the Corporate Legal Department located in Costa Mesa, CA.  The successful candidate will enjoy a key role in Auto Club’s strategic transactions work.  The work involves complex and varied duties where judgment, initiative, confidentiality and the desire to learn are essential.

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Review, organize, and revise contracts for the purchase of software and content licenses, professional technical services, and general goods based on defined standards while coordinating critical issues with in-house counsel

  • Create and updates deal status reports to keep stakeholders informed regarding their projects

  • Navigate online filing portals and industry websites, such as OASIS, SIRCON and NAIC

  • Identify areas to improve our existing processes and develop efficiencies across the team

  • Assist with special projects as needed, with the ability to work in an ever-changing environment

 

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma, GED, or equivalent certificate required.

  • Four-year college degree or equivalent combination of education and work preferred.

  • Paralegal certificate preferred.

  • Minimum 5 to 7 years paralegal and/or legal experience required.

  • General knowledge of legal terminology, corporate entity governance, insurance and regulatory compliance preferred.

  • High level of professionalism with interpersonal skills to interface in a team environment.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills required.

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills required, as well as ability to independently prioritize tasks and meet deadlines as set by attorneys and management.

  • Prior project management experience preferred.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and accuracy of documents and data.

  • Strong ability to focus on details in contracts and documents.

  • High-level of proficiency with office productivity software required – specifically, Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, and Excel), and Adobe Acrobat.

  • Successful completion of Auto Club pre-employment assessments, background and drug screenings.
