The Automobile Club of Southern California is seeking a Paralegal to join the Corporate Legal Department located in Costa Mesa, CA. The successful candidate will enjoy a key role in Auto Club’s strategic transactions work. The work involves complex and varied duties where judgment, initiative, confidentiality and the desire to learn are essential.
Responsibilities:
Review, organize, and revise contracts for the purchase of software and content licenses, professional technical services, and general goods based on defined standards while coordinating critical issues with in-house counsel
Create and updates deal status reports to keep stakeholders informed regarding their projects
Navigate online filing portals and industry websites, such as OASIS, SIRCON and NAIC
Identify areas to improve our existing processes and develop efficiencies across the team
Assist with special projects as needed, with the ability to work in an ever-changing environment
Qualifications:
High School diploma, GED, or equivalent certificate required.
Four-year college degree or equivalent combination of education and work preferred.
Paralegal certificate preferred.
Minimum 5 to 7 years paralegal and/or legal experience required.
General knowledge of legal terminology, corporate entity governance, insurance and regulatory compliance preferred.
High level of professionalism with interpersonal skills to interface in a team environment.
Excellent written and oral communication skills required.
Excellent organizational and time management skills required, as well as ability to independently prioritize tasks and meet deadlines as set by attorneys and management.
Prior project management experience preferred.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and accuracy of documents and data.
Strong ability to focus on details in contracts and documents.
High-level of proficiency with office productivity software required – specifically, Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, and Excel), and Adobe Acrobat.
Successful completion of Auto Club pre-employment assessments, background and drug screenings.
