This position is responsible for providing strategic leadership, clinical expertise, staff supervision, operational management, and budgetary oversight for the AAFP’s Maternity Care Department.Possible 10 days travel annually.
This position is responsible for providing strategic leadership, clinical expertise, staff supervision, operational management, and budgetary oversight for the AAFP’s Maternity Care Department to ensure the education provided - including Advanced Life Support in Obstetrics (ALSO®) program, the Basic Life Support in Obstetrics (BLSO®), and GLOBAL ALSO® - meets established standards and objectives.
Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree plus a minimum of four years related experience. Previous clinical experience is required; and experience with team based learning strongly preferred. Ability to understand and apply ACCME Essentials and Standards for Commercial Support and other applicable laws or regulations with which AAFP- provided CME must comply. Previous experience with Maternity Care and Continuing Nursing Education application and maintenance strongly preferred. Excellent financial management, project management and oral/written communication skills; ability to work individually and in teams; and ability to lead individuals and teams. The incumbent must consistently exhibit a positive, supportive attitude; professionally interact with both internal and external stakeholders; openly share ideas for efficiencies that support continuous improvement and quality practices; and assist in building consensus among multiple stakeholders.
