Older Adults Technology Services from AARP (OATS) advocates for technology inclusion for the 50-plus, providing digital literacy training and programming to older adults. With nearly two decades of experience and insights on how older people interact with technology as well as its flagship programs like Senior Planet, OATS uses its resources to create world-class programs that form the basis for systems change.
The Account Manager assists in developing, executing, and implementing new engagement programs that align with the organization’s goals and objectives. Investigates, resolves complaints, and listens to grievances on behalf of members. Works with staff, volunteers, members, chapters, and other cross-organization teams to achieve AARP’s community engagement goals at the state and local levels.
Responsibilities
- Building and maintaining strong, long-lasting client relationships.
- Negotiating contracts and closing agreements to maximize program participation.
- Ensuring the successful delivery of solutions according to customer needs, objectives, and alignment with the Quality Assurance and Control Standards.
- Working closely with the finance team to ensure all financial transactions are conducted and recorded in a timely manner.
- Clearly communicating the progress of monthly/quarterly initiatives to internal and external stakeholders.
- Forecasting and tracking key account metrics to understand program performance and identify client needs. Preparing reports on account status.
- Collaborating with OATS colleagues to identify and grow opportunities within territories and assisting with challenging client requests or issue escalations as needed.
- Utilizing Salesforce database to manage accounts and fulfill responsibilities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s preferred
- At least three years of account management experience
- A strong project management orientation with the ability to synthesize complex sets of information efficiently
- Ability to interact professionally with external partners and represent the organization's licensing initiative effectively
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with all levels of internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience using Salesforce database, Google apps, and Microsoft Office applications, as well as (or including) project management/collaborative tools.
- Proven experience managing a complex workload in a fast-paced, results-driven, entrepreneurial environment.
- Position operates in a typical office environment working on a computer at a desk throughout the day.
