As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for supporting the plant’s expanding maintenance efforts, at the US Motion Headquarters, in New Berlin, WI, ensuring a positive impact to safety, quality, delivery, and cost goals. You will report to the Quality/Tactical OpEx Manager and be responsible for production line maintenance.
Your responsibilities
- Safety: Be an active participant in the safety culture by submitting and fixing hazards throughout the year. Follow and comply with all safety rules and regulations and company policies. Maintain departmental housekeeping standards within their assigned work area
- Preventative Maintenance: Ensure proper operation of machinery by completing preventive maintenance requirements on production machines, conveyor systems, test systems, material handling equipment, and support equipment. Order spare parts and materials for work orders as necessary
- Fabrication: Fabricate items per prints from engineering or upon own design by using machine shop equipment or contracting with local vendor. You may design yourself or fabricate prints of a design for jigs, carts and methods for transporting material, etc. Occasional modification of production parts to rework and meet print
- Teamwork: Contribute to team effort by accomplishing maintenance work orders and assist with other duties to support engineering and operations as assigned
- Problem Solving: This individual will be responsible for supporting new projects as well as troubleshooting and addressing issues with current systems in use in production. Equipment may include but not limited to test equipment, workstation devices (monitors, scanners, printers, lighting, etc), and packaging equipment
Your background
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Must possess experience in fabrication including but not limited to (and do not need experience with all methods) the following methods and tools: wood fabrication with table saw/jig saw/sander, aluminum/plastic milling/drilling/lathe, sheet metal brake, bandsaw/chop saw, and various hand tools
- Experience in basic electrical wiring and troubleshooting is preferred
- Ability to utilize computers as necessary for documentation, drawings, and maintenance system
- Ability to follow sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications to troubleshoot malfunctions (mechanically, pneumatic, electrical)
- Ability to work independently (self-motivated and self-directed) and successful at managing multiple priorities and tasks with good verbal and written communication in English
- Demonstrates the ability to pay close attention to detail and ability to read schematics and prints
- Requires occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds, frequent squatting, bending, stooping, sitting and stretching, standing and walking for extended periods of time. Requires full range of motion including handling and lifting, manual and finger dexterity, and hand-eye coordination
- Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
