The Communications Specialist (CS) at ABC Fine Wine & Spirits will manage and improve external communications flows. Communications work will develop upbeat, creative, and relevant social media content and will assist in local advertising campaigns and events.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a media and influencer outreach strategy
- Write, edit, and distribute several types of content, including material for a website, press releases, marketing materials and other types of content that communicate externally
- Develop, seek out and maintain detailed knowledge of the company’s store openings, wine tastings and events
- Work with key internal stakeholders to brainstorm content ideas, in line with the company’s strategy and in support of various brand initiatives
- Support and evaluate results of communications campaigns with the team
- Build and maintain relationships with media, business partners and key external stakeholders
- Respond to media inquiries, arrange interviews, and serve as spokesperson for the organization
- Research, monitor and analyze trends for internal and external coverage to help inform and shape communication strategies
- Develop local campaigns for community activation and outreach
- Assist in the creation of video content as an on-camera personality and brand ambassador
- Create fun and engaging social media posts, including short form videos like Reels, TikTok videos and YouTube Shorts
- Function as social media coordinator when they are out of office
- The CS will be required to work on weekends as needed to maintain social media communications. Typically, this done an hour a day, one or two weekends each month.
Job Requirements
Minimum Experience, Skills, and Education
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, public relations, marketing, or a related field
- A minimum of 1 year experience in communications strategy development (internships included)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Works well under pressure and meets tight deadlines
- Highly computer literate with capability in email, MS Office, and related business and communication tools
- Intermediate knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and/or Canva
- Content writing experience for all media platforms
- Strategic and creative mindset
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Self-sufficient, organized, and able to prioritize work
- Works well in a highly collaborative team environment
- Occasional travel within the state of Florida required
Physical Requirements
With or Without Accommodations
- May sit or stand at a workstation for up to 8 hours to operate printing equipment and office equipment
- Routinely handles paperwork, materials, collateral and other printing supplies and deliverables
- Occasionally needs to lift and/or transport up to fifty pounds of boxes, printed materials, or assorted items short distances, to and from the normal workstation.
- Occasionally needs to move, position, and/or rotate themselves in a way to access items and/or objects on shelves and counters in harder to reach areas and/or below waist level or above shoulder level.
- Occasionally needs to stand or walk short distances to areas that are not immediately accessible from the workstation, such as the fax machine, printers, or mailroom.
- Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision (at 20 inches or less), distance vision (at 20 feet or more), color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
- The work environment is a typical climate-controlled office environment.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
