Position Summary Details
The Critical Facility Technician Apprentice assists the Critical Facility Technician to monitor and maintain all building systems and mission critical facilities equipment and other equipment associated with the raised floor environment.
Essential Functions
- Assists the Critical Facility Technician with testing and rounds.
- Ensures strict adherence to critical facility work rule and safety procedures.
- Is familiar with all applicable Federal, State, and local rules, codes, and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Assists with the daily/weekly/monthly walk-through of customer facilities in support of data center and office operations
- Performs preventive maintenance on all building equipment
- Assists, as necessary, with scheduling of preventative maintenance, contracted maintenance, and general maintenance with minimal disruption of building services
- Responds quickly to emergency situations and customer concerns
- Ensures Critical Facilities Technician, Contract Manager and/or Customer receives timely verbal and written operating reports that give him/her a clear understanding of the condition of the building’s critical systems and the present level of ongoing preventative maintenance
- Escorts subcontractors as required
- Has knowledge of warehouse/inventory management principles and best practices
- Has excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Is able to prioritize projects and has strong problem-solving skills
- Has good research skills and is highly organized, with strong attention to detail
- Is able to work independently
- Is able to speak, read, and write English
Qualifications
- One year of similar experience preferred.
- Must be 18 years of age or older
