What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Base Janitorial PM position at ABM?
General Duties/Basic Job Functions: (Other duties may be assigned.)
- Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming them.
- Gather and empty trash.
- Service, clean, and supply restrooms.
- Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment, in order to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
- Remove, neutralize, or clean up hazardous materials that are found or spilled
- Clean contaminated equipment for reuse
- Monitor building security and safety by performing such tasks as locking doors after operating hours/use and checking electrical appliance use to ensure that hazards are not created.
- Keep records of cleanup activities
- Move heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies, either manually or by using hand trucks.
- Notify managers concerning the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems.
- Recognize and mitigate a variety of miscellaneous hazards encountered within the department and other work environments, i.e., surroundings, mechanized equipment, and hazardous materials.
- Requisition supplies and equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties.
- Set up, arrange, and remove decorations, tables, chairs, ladders, and scaffolding to prepare facilities for events such as banquets and meetings.
- Clean and polish furniture and fixtures.
- Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors, using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, and squeegees.
- Dust furniture, walls, machines, and equipment.
- Mix water and detergents or acids in containers to prepare cleaning solutions according to specifications.
- Strip, seal, finish, and polish floors.
- Drive vehicles required to perform or travel to cleaning work, including vans, industrial trucks, or industrial vacuum cleaners.
- May be expected to make basic repairs.
- Establish and maintain effective communication and working relationships with passengers, co-workers, shift coordinators, supervisors, managers, etc.
- Comply with all safety, security, compliance and quality standards and procedures established by the Company, Clients, and regulatory authorities.
- Miscellaneous duties as assigned.

- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

General Company Requirements:
- Employee must comply with ABM's uniform and grooming standards and must wear his/her SIDA badge/Airport ID at all times. All appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be worn when required.
- Employee must comply with all guidelines and policies set forth in the Air Serv Corporation Employee Handbook. These policies include, but are not limited to, ABM's Zero Tolerance Discrimination and Harassment Policy, Retaliation Policy, Ethics Policy, and Security Policy, Employee must also comply with regulatory agency requirements, including, but not limited to, the ADA, ACAA, DOT, TSA, FAA, and Federal, State, and Local Authorities.
Education:
High School diploma or GED required.
Experience:
1 or more years of experience preferred.
Previous experience working in an airport environment preferred.
Overall:
Must be 21 years of age or older.
Must possess a valid Driver's License.
Must meet all requirements to receive required airport SIDA badge and Customs Seal (if applicable), including successful completion of a background check, motor vehicle report check, and ten-year work history.
